We Are the World Blogfest #WATWB

It’s the last Friday of the month–time again for some good news to take you into November with a smile.

The story I chose for this month is one I hope we’ll see repeated often in the years to come. It involves an ingenious solution to the problem of plastics in the world’s oceans. Take a minute to read it–I think you’ll find it fascinating.

Here’s how #WATWB works: On the last Friday of each month a number of bloggers participate in a blog hop in which each blogger highlights a story that spreads good news, happiness, and hope.

These are the cohosts for this month: Shilpa Garg, Sylvia McGrath, Mary GieseBelinda Witzenhausen, and Guilie CastilloClick on the name of the cohost (if in bold) to visit his or her blog.

    1. Isn’t it amazing what people can do with a little (or a lot) of ingenuity? I’d love to see this kind of engineering combined with the tactics organizations are using to trap the oceans’ plastics. We could do so much to increase the health of the oceans.

    1. There are good news stories out there–the trouble is that you have to actively look for the good ones while the bad news stories are everywhere you look. That’s part of the reason I love this last-Friday-of-the-month blog hop! Thanks for dropping in.

      1. I know what you mean. All month I keep my eyes open waiting to find something, anything, positive to share during #WATWB. It’s been good for me, and I’ve met many new-to-me bloggers along the way.

    1. Thanks, Michelle! I love looking for articles to post for #WATWB, and as soon as I saw this one I knew it would be perfect. Kudos to the engineers in the Netherlands who are making this happen!

    1. Wouldn’t it be great if we could take the plastics from the ocean and use it to rebuild some of the huge roads in the US? That would be a great way to start to clean up the oceans! Thanks for stopping by!
