I’ve spent some time in the past week working on the blog to make it easier to read and easier for readers to find my books. I’ve updated the “About Me” page and I’ve added a page listing my books with links to my website and/or Amazon. I’ve also changed the font and, more importantly, the font size, to make the title of the blog and the different pages more user-friendly.
One of my goals is to use the blog more effectively to invite people to sign up for my newsletter. If you haven’t already signed up, click the tab that says “Website and Newsletter” at the top of the blog’s home page and you’ll be redirected to my sign-up form. I’m always trying to grow the newsletter, so I invite you to join us!
One of these days I intend to include some short stories on the blog (and duplicated on the website) that readers can peruse, too.
I hope you like the new look! Let me know what you think and if there’s anything else I could do to make visiting Reade and Write a pleasant experience!
Until next time,
Amy
Hi Amy! I’ve never done this before so please bare with me. I read the book and would like to answer the questions and read others comments 🙂

Thank you! Have you found the right spot yet? It should be the landing page for my blog.

The blog site looks great!! Well done. Like our homes, we need to refresh the look from time to time.

So true! It had been way too long since I updated the blog. Same with some of the rooms in my house, I’m afraid. 🙂

Hi Amy, No, I’m not a dizzy blonde.. Ber dum. Of course I’ve seen you on my timeline and read many interesting items you’ve written. The trouble is Facebook/Twitter/Writers’ Ink/my website: https://www.joylennick.wordpress.com all consume me – not to mention a weekly paper column I write, plus more serious writing… Phew! Aren’t we writers masochists?! Anyway, it’s good ‘cementing’ in my mind who you are and what you do! Best wishes. PS The above is looking good!.

Thank you, Joy! I’m glad you came to visit. I had a look at your blog and I really like it–I’ve signed up to receive it, but I don’t know if I’ll be getting it by email or in my reader. I’ll have to check. It sounds like you’re very busy! But busy is good, isn’t it??

How exciting for you. Congratulations on a good looking website. I’ve long wondered why bloggers also do newsletters. Can you help me understand? You can’t leave comments (have a conversation) with a newsletter and so often they are just a compilation of what’s been in the blog. With a blog you can at least leave a comment. I love my blog and meeting other bloggers. I get subscribers (i.e., email addresses) to my blog, so why bother with the newsletter? Inquiring minds . . . And I thank you.

Hi Janet, the newsletter is for my work as an author, not a blogger. Every month I send out a newsletter with information about what I’ve been working on (which I usually do not address in the blog), a quick summary of what’s coming up on the blog, what I’ve been reading, new releases and promos from other authors, and a recipe from my own files.
It took me a long time (embarrassingly long) to realize that my blog had no links to my books, my author website, or my newsletter, and if people like what they read on the blog, I’m hoping they’ll take a look at the other things I write, too, and sign up for the newsletter. So that, in a nutshell, is why I have the newsletter. 🙂
I’m glad you stopped by! Thanks for taking a look and leaving your comment–it was a great one!

You’re very welcome and thank you for your quick reply. One more question — do you then have two Email lists? One for blog post notifications and one for newsletter notifications?

Very nice, I have one suggestion. I don’t know if you can do this but you may want to add a link to your first Tuesday recipes. That way, when someone wants to revisit because they remember seeing a good recipe, they can do it easily! But, if it isn’t easy, they can always do a search. Hmmmm!
Have a wonderful week!

That’s a great suggestion. I rarely check to see if the posts are filed properly under the tabs at the top, but I noticed yesterday that the First Tuesday Recipes weren’t there. I do need to fix that. Thank you! Glad you like the new blog!

Nice, btw, so often when I click links in blogs, I can’t get back to the original. I tried all your links, and they work great!

Wonderful! The default setting in WordPress is to open a link in the same tab, so I have to remember to change the setting manually every time I add a link. Haven’t figured out if there’s a way to change the default setting.
